Josefa Llanes Escoda, born on 20 September 1898, was a Filipino civic leader, social worker, World War II heroine, and suffragette. She is most known for campaigning for women's suffrage and as a founder of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines. After undergoing intensified training in Girl Scouting in USA in  early 1940s, Josefa began to train young women to become girl scout leaders and she became the first National Executive of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines. Josefa Llanes Escoda is memorialized on the Philippines' 1,000 Peso banknote depicting Filipinos who fought and died resisting the Japanese occupation during the Second World War.

Josefa Escoda TERNO Bolero is made from black organza silk fabric, computer embroidered with flowers and leaves and tailored in Lumban, Laguna, the Philippines' capital of embroidery. This TERNO is available inblack color only with light brown embroidery.
